A Mumbai court has extended the police custody of Mihir Shah, the main suspect in the Worli hit-and-run case, until July 16. Shah, accused of altering his appearance to evade arrest and discarding the vehicle's original number plate, faces questio...

The Mumbai Police on Wednesday told the court that Shah had changed his appearance to escape arrest. The police also told the court that Shah was not cooperating during the investigation and that they are yet to recover the original number plate of the vehicle which Shah had thrown away after the accident.
"Custodial interrogation is necessary to ascertain on whose instructions Shah got a haircut done and his beard removed. Who helped or assisted him in making arrangements for the same. Also while on the run, Shah got rid of the original number plate of the car for which custodial interrogation is necessary to recover the crucial piece of evidence," the investigation officer told the court while seeking his custody.
Shah's lawyer while arguing against the remand told the court that Shah was arrested at 3pm on Tuesday and had been confronted with their driver who has already been arrested in the case.
