As soon as the siren sounded at 7 pm, the diyas were lit everywhere within three minutes as part of 'Ashirwad ka Diya' programme, he said.

The programme saw unprecedented public participation all over the state with the lighting of lamps spreading the message of service and commitment, he said.
At the Ram Ghat along the Kshipra river in Ujjain, BJP president Nitin Nabin, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, state BJP chief Hemant Khandelwal and state in-charge Mahendra Singhi took part in diya-lighting.
Volunteers lit lamps at various ghats of the river including the Ramghat, Datta Akhara, Kedareshwar Ghat, Sunhari Ghat, Bhookhi Mata Ghat and Mahakal Mahalok at 7 pm, and participated in 'Shipra Aarti', the official added.
The banks of the river were bathed in light, presenting a picturesque sight.
Volunteers also formed a picture of Modi with lit lamps at the Kartik Mela ground in the city.
