The Super Over comes into force if the result of a match if both innings have been completed and the scores are equal.

If India vs New Zealand or Australia vs South Africa semi-final is tied, the umpires will invoke the provision for a Super Over to determine which team progresses to the Final.
In the rare case of even a Super Over being a tie, then subsequent unlimited Super Overs will be played until there is a winner.
If weather conditions or any other disruptions prevent the Super Over from being completed, or if the match is abandoned or a no result at the end of the one-day reserve day, then the result of the semifinal match will be determined based on the position in in the league stage. At the end of the group stage, India are placed at the top with 18 points, followed by South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Super Over Rules
The Super Over will start 5 minutes after the conclusion of the match.The team batting second in the match shall bat first in the Super Over.

There will be provision for one review request per innings per Super Over, irrespective of the number of unsuccessful review requests made during the match itself.
The fielding team captain will select the ball with which the fielding team shall bowl its over in the Super Over from the box of spare balls, including the balls used in the match. No new balls allowed.
The team fielding second may then choose to use the same ball as chosen by the team bowling first or choose another ball from the same box.
Field restrictions: The Super Over shall be played with the same fielding restrictions applicable for the last over in the match.
The gap between the two overs in the Super Over shall be 5 minutes.
Any batsman dismissed in any Super Over shall be ineligible to bat in any subsequent Super Over.
And any bowler who bowled in the previous Super Over shall be ineligible to bowl in the subsequent Super Over.
