Police said a PCR call was received at 3.17 pm reporting the incident during demolition of an old structure.
A police team rushed to the spot along with rescue agencies, including the fire brigade, and launched a rescue operation.

Police said three labourers were trapped under the debris after a portion of the roof suddenly gave way during demolition and debris removal work.
Fire department officers said that by the time they reached the spot, two labourers had already been pulled out from the rubble with minor injuries.

"Rescue teams later extricated another worker from beneath the debris and rushed him to a hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead," a senior police officer said.
The deceased was identified as a 40-year-old man. The two injured workers, aged 28 and 30 years, suffered minor injuries and are stated to be stable, police said.
