Green Foot Print Trust in association with Advanced Workplace Associates (AWA), a UK based consultancy firm, has organized the Work Green Conclave in Bengaluru on February 24, in the light of fast-paced climate change triggered by vehicular emissions and infrastructure projects causing their own impact on climate.

Multiple knowledge sessions have been planned during the week, starting from February 21. The conclave seeks to create awareness about the future of hybrid workplaces and how climate change will affect the way we work, live and succeed in all that we aspire to achieve, the organisation said in a press release.

“It will cover the realms of the future of work, sustainability and ESG,Commercial Real Estate, architecture and design and the impact of technology,” said Shashidhar Sharma, Co-ordinator of Green Footprint Trust & AWA WorkGreen Conclave.

Effectively managing underutilised offices is a challenge concerning hybrid workplaces. Over the years, employees have moved from their desks to coffee shops and lounges creating empty spaces in office buildings for hundreds of hours every month.

T N Subramaniyan, founder of Aspar Ecoventures said: “There are a lot of campaigns around soil, air, and water pollution, but never about the workplace. This conclave will dwell on sharing insights on conscious competence toward workplace lifestyle. Furthermore, this will teach people about the right methods of working and using appropriate products in workplaces and daily life to reduce the effect of climate change.”

With utilization studies showing that 60-40% of the work seats were empty most of the time, running workspaces like before does not make any sense. The need of the hour is to reimagine the way we work so that there is less harm to the planet.
