Two people were injured on Tuesday during a women-led protest in Imphal demanding release of six people arrested in connection with a mob attack at the Indian Reserve Battalion post last week.

The protest led to a confrontation between the security forces and women protesters. Police fired tear gas shells to quell the protest during which two people were injured. In protest against the security forces' action today, the women groups have given bandh call on Wednesday in Manipur valley districts.

Last week, a mob attacked two posts of the Indian Reserve Battalion in which one person was killed while two others were injured.
