The police chargesheet said that the woman and her associates started hatching the conspiracy as far back as 2017.
In a startling revelation, a chargesheet filed by the police exposes a woman, identified as Monica Bhagwan alias Dev Choudhary, for allegedly orchestrating an intricate honey trap to falsely accuse a 64-year-old businessman of sexual assault at a luxurious five-star hotel in the city. According to the chargesheet, Monica cunningly applied chicken bloodstains on her hands to fabricate an injury, claiming it occurred while resisting the businessman's advances, ToI reported.

As per a ToI report, the police said that Monica's devious plan did not end with mere false accusations. Alongside her three accomplices - Anil Choudhary alias Akash, fashion designer Lubna Wazir alias Sapna, and jeweler Manish Sodi - she reportedly extorted a staggering sum of Rs 3 crore from the businessman.

The chargesheet, filed by Unit 10 of the Crime Branch City Police, outlines the elaborate scheme hatched by Monica and her associates, starting as far back as 2017. At that time, Anil Choudhary and Sapna allegedly befriended the businessman and conducted a thorough study of his assets, laying the groundwork for their sinister plot.

The crucial turning point occurred in 2019, when the businessman visited Mumbai and stayed at a prominent five-star hotel. It was then that Monica accused him of attempting to sexually assault her, while Sapna recorded a video depicting a confrontation with the businessman, accusing him of assault.

The businessman filed a police complaint in November 2021, alleging that a gang of four had ensnared him in a honey trap and extorted Rs 3.25 crore. Subsequently, the accused continued their harassment, threatening him with the video and demanding an additional Rs 2 crore.

While Monica's accomplices were apprehended earlier in connection with the case, her own arrest took place in June 2022, ultimately leading to the unfolding of the intricately planned extortion scheme. The chargesheet paints a vivid picture of deception, highlighting the lengths to which Monica Bhagwan and her associates went to perpetrate the fraudulent accusation and extortion plot.
