A female activist from a right-wing group was arrested on Monday for conducting a water ritual and raising a saffron flag at the Taj Mahal, claiming that the monument was originally a Shiva temple.

Meera Rathore, linked to the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM), was detained by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

A senior CISF official stated, "She is currently being questioned. We are also working to identify the individual who recorded her videos. We will transfer her to the police and file a formal complaint about the incident."

As per the report, the CISF had not yet transferred Rathore to the police.

"We have not received any complaint yet, nor has the CISF handed over anyone to us," Tajganj SHO Jasveer Singh said.

This incident follows the arrest of two individuals from the same organization two days prior for allegedly performing a similar ritual at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
