Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijit Ganguly to resign, may contest Lok Sabha elections
Calcutta High Court judge, justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay, said on Sunday that he would resign on Tuesday. He was scheduled to retire on August 31.

"I will send my resignation to President Droupadi Murmu. As a judge, tomorrow (Monday) is the last day in court. However, I will not do any adjudication and will verbally inform chief justice of Calcutta High Court about my resignation," justice Gangopadhyay said. He declined to comment on whether he would enter politics and said he would address all media inquiries after submitting his resignation.

Justice Gangopadhyay had issued several directions to CBI and ED to probe allegations of irregularities in the recruitment processes of teaching and non-teaching staff in West Bengal. State BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar said: "There are many who want to join. I will not comment about it."
