BJP leader Amit Shah today inaugurated a Ram-Mandir themed Durga Puja mandap in Kolkata.
Raising the “parivartan” call in Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said he would seek strength to end corruption, torture and injustice in Bengal.

“I will seek blessings from Goddess Durga, so that we get all the strength to ensure that corruption, torture and injustice comes to an end in Bengal,” Shah said, adding, “I will pray to Maa Durga for happiness, peace, prosperity of the people entire of Bengal.” The Union Home Minister inaugurated a Durga Puja pandal at Santosh Mitra Square today, themed on Ram Mandir.

“I have not come to speak anything political today. I will later come to Bengal, talk about politics and will make every effort to bring “parivartan” in the state,” Shah said.

“Ram Mandir is being constructed in Ayodhya. Before the inauguration of Ram Mandir in January next year, Ram Mandir was inaugurated in North Kolkata’s pandal by Kolkatawalos' ' (Kolkatans). This Durga Puja pandal gives the message of Ram Mandir to the entire world, much ahead of Ram Janmabhoomi,” Shah said.

“While Bengal devotes to Durga Puja, the whole country celebrates Navaratri in various forms. While in Gujarat, prayer is offered to Mother Goddess through ‘Bhakti gaan’ (religious songs) which are sung in mandaps, in north India Shakti is worshipped with “dharma” and rituals,” Shah said.

Shah wished the country and people of Bengal on Navratri and Durga Puja. “I send warm greetings on the second day (Dwitiya) of Nava Ratri. In a bid to do this, I left Gujarat in the morning and travelled to Bengal on Durga Puja via Chhattisgarh. In Bengal... Durga Puja is bigger than Diwali.”
