Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad tied the knot with his girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar on Saturday. He shared some shared some pictures from the wedding in an Instagram post with a caption: "From the pitch to the altar, our journey begins!"

Ruturaj played a big part in CSK's victorious IPL 2023 campaign. He scored 590 runs at an average of 42.14 and strike rate of 147.50 in 15 innings during this year's IPL season. He also scored four half-centuries in the tournament, with best score of 92. In the IPL final, CSK were required to chase 171 runs in 15 overs. Openers Devon Conway (47 in 25 balls) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (26 in 16 balls) provided a platform with a 74-run stand for the first wicket.

He has also represented Team India in 9 T20Is and one ODI.

Utkarsha Pawar is also a cricketer and represents Maharashtra women's team in domestic tournaments. Ruturaj Gaikwad had dedicated their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final victory against Gujarat Titans to veteran batter Ambati Rayudu who decided to hang up his boots after the IPL final. Gaikwad and his fellow CSK opener had played a massive role in their side's success this year, stitching together vital partnerships.

New Zealand batter Devon Conway lauded Ruturaj Gaikwad, with who he opens in the Indian Premier League (IPL), calling him "one of the best players he has ever seen." "Batting alongside Ruturaj is a real treat. I think he is one of the best players I have seen first-hand. I am very fortunate to be batting and watching him from the other end, go about his business," said Conway in a video posted by CSK's Twitter handle.

Utkarsha Pawar is an all-rounder who bowls right arm medium fast and bats right-handed. Many cricketer have congratulated Utkarsha Pawar and Ruturaj Gaikwad on their wedding.
