What you need to know about India's Covid-19 vaccination drive. The numbers so far

More than 3.4 crore first doses have been administered to children between the age group of 12-14 years under the vaccination drive which began in March 2022.

The advancement in Covid-19 vaccination drives across the country has led to a surge in recovery rate. It now stands at 98.74%. Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate is 0.63%.

India’s active Covid caseload stood at 18,386 on 1 June (as of 7am) constituting 0.04% of the country's total positive cases. So far, more than 3.4 crore first doses have been administered to children between the age group of 12-14 years under the vaccination drive which began in March 2022.

Vaccination status across the country:

  1. India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination status reached over 193.57 crore on 1 June (as of 7am).
  2. Close to 1.4 crore first doses, more than 1 crore second-doses and 52.3 lakh precautionary doses have been administered to healthcare workers (HCWs).
  3. 1.84 crore frontline workers have received the first dose of vaccine followed by 1.75 crore and 87.6 lakh of second and precautionary doses respectively.
  4. For the 12-14 age group, 3.4 crore first doses and 1.6 crore second doses have been administered.
  5. For the age group of 15-18 years, 5.9 crore first doses and 4.5 crore second doses have been administered.
  6. More than 55 crore first doses, 49 crore second doses and 9 lakh precautionary doses have been administered to people in the age group of 18-44 years.
