West Bengal governor honours ex-Foreign Secretary Shringla Harsh Vardhan Shringla

Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Former Foreign Secretary and President of the Darjeeling Welfare Society, was honoured on Thursday with the Kalakranti Governor’s Excellence Award at a formal ceremony at the Raj Bhawan in Darjeeling.

Harsh Vardhan Shringla, was bestowed with the prestigious Kalakranti Governor’s Excellence Award during a momentous event organized in the presence of United States-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) delegation visiting Darjeeling.

The visit and award ceremony took place at the Raj Bhawan, Darjeeling and were graced by the esteemed presence of the Governor of West Bengal, Dr CV Ananda Bose.


The event was attended by a high-level delegation from the United States-India Strategic Partnership Forum, consisting of CEOs and senior executives from leading U.S. Corporations. The USISPF recognised the abundant potential among the youth of Darjeeling in areas such as information technology, hospitality, healthcare services, among others.

In a philanthropic gesture, he pledged to donate the Rs. 1 lakh that came with the award to support underprivileged individuals in Darjeeling, underscoring his commitment to the welfare of the community.

G20 chief coordinator Shringla noted that the USISPF visit was the first of its kind to the region and exemplified their commitment to fostering stronger economic exchanges with West Bengal (particularly Darjeeling), Sikkim, Assam and the North Eastern states.
