West Bengal extends COVID-19 lockdown till July 15

As per the revised order, the state will remain under lockdown till July 15.
The West Bengal government today extended restrictions across the state till July 15 in view of the COVID-19 situation. As per the revised order, the state will remain under lockdown till July 15.

"COVID19 restrictions to remain into effect till July 15. Salons, beauty parlours allowed to open from 11am to 6pm with 50% seating capacity provided staff has been vaccinated. Gyms to be allowed with 50% capacity. Private and corporates offices can remain open from 10 am to 4 pm with 50 % working capacity," read a note from the Chief Minister's office.

As per the new order, all bazaars and markets are allowed to open from 6:00 am to 12 noon. Other shops will stay open from 11:00 to 8:00 pm. Banks are allowed to operate between 10 am to 2 pm. Public buses will operate with 50 per cent capacity.


Social gatherings such as weddings would be allowed with a maximum of 50 people, Banerjee said, urging people to continue wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

The state has registered 1,836 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to a bulletin by the government on Sunday. The state also saw 2,022 recoveries, pushing recoveries 14,55,453.
