Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Monday that he would perform the ‘bhumipujan’ of Campa Cola’s factory in Hooghly district’s Haringhata on October 26.

Campa Cola is currently owned by Reliance Industries through its subsidiary Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL) and is being scaled up.

A high-level 12-13-member delegation from Reliance Industries met Adhikari and chief secretary Manoj Kumar Agarwal last Wednesday on the proposed investments in West Bengal in multiple sectors, Adhikari had said after the meeting.

Meanwhile, the chief minister said that he will also inaugurate HPL Adperma’s acetone plant in Haldia on October 14. “These are the two projects I am inaugurating in October, Reliance and Campa Cola,” the CM added.

Adperma, India’s largest phenol and acetone maker, has set up the facility at an investment of Rs 6,000 crore. The unit is the country’s first acetone and phenol-manufacturing facility on the east coast, positioning Adperma to bring a significant shift in the geography of India’s chemicals industry.
