West Bengal cancels Class 10, 12 Board exams

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the cancellation and said, "We will work out the best possible way to secure the future of our children."

West Bengal government has cancelled the board examination for Class 10 and Class 12 due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the state.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the cancellation and said, "We will work out the best possible way to secure the future of our children."

On Sunday, the Chief Minister had said that the state government would form an expert committee to recommend whether the state board exams for secondary and higher secondary classes should be held.


This follows the CBSE exams being cancelled by the central government last week, following which the ICSE and several other State Boards cancelled examinations.

States, including Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh cancelled their respective state Board exams in view of the prevailing COVID situation.
