"We are often asked, aren't you supposed to deliver profits for your investors? And our response is, if we lead with purpose, profits will follow. Today, with this prestigious award, it is in many ways a vindication and an inspiration for everyone who leads with purpose," said Anish Shah, MD and CEO, Mahindra Group, as he accepted the ET award for Company of the Year.


Mahindra won the award for its remarkable performance in the manufacturing sector and a stellar FY24 - a landmark year for the company in multiple ways. It reported its highest-ever annual net profit of ₹11,269 crore, reflecting a three-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 83.9%, while revenue grew 23.3% annually, reaching ₹1.4 lakh crore during the period.

Recalling an advertisement that the company's founders had once placed in The Times of India, Shah said it didn't talk about the products but the principles on which the company was founded. "And that is the purpose that we lead with as a company," he noted.


"We stand today as custodians, accepting this award on behalf of everyone at Mahindra. I would personally like to thank Anand Mahindra for his support, guidance, and empowerment. Mr Keshub Mahindra will always be with us. Our leaders from the past talked about the principles under which the company was founded. I would personally like to thank my wife Sneha for helping me be the person I am today. And finally, thank you to the jury for bestowing this honour upon us," he concluded.
