Water supply disruption in Mumbai because of repairs

On the 26th and 27th of October, from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m., maintenance work will be carried out at Powai to stop leaks.

Water supply will be disrupted for 24 hours, according to the BMC, due to repairs at its water pumping stations in Bhandup and Pise Panjrapur Complexes.
Water supply in Mumbai could be disrupted over Tuesday and Wednesday because of repair works carried out by the city's civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The repair works are being done at BMC's water pumping station at Bhandup and Pise Panjrapur plants, reports said.

Replacement of two 1,200mm diameter sluice valves at the 1910 MLD pumping station of Bhandup Complex and replacement of Stage 3 pump set at Pise Panjrapur Complex will be done, the Hindustan Times reported.


The BMC also intends to address leaks in water mains with a diameter of 1,800mm.
