The ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian team touched down in Delhi on Thursday to a warm welcome from the fans awaiting the sight of their favourite heroes and sight of the silverware.

The aircraft was brimming with joy and excitement as the undefeated Indian cricket team, fresh from their ICC T20 World Cup victory in Barbados, touched down in Delhi. This triumph marked the end of their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.
Upon arrival on Thursday morning, the World Cup-winning team was greeted with a warm welcome from enthusiastic fans eager to see their heroes and the coveted silverware. The squad, along with their support staff, families, and media, had been stranded in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl. The hurricane, a category four storm at the time, had shut down the Grantley Adams International Airport in Bridgetown for three days.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah organised the flight, which departed on July 2 and arrived in Delhi around 6:00 AM on Thursday. The flight included board officials and members of the media contingent from the tournament.

Key contributions from Hardik Pandya (3/20) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/18) restricted South Africa to 169/8, despite Heinrich Klaasen's quick 52 off 27 balls. Bumrah, with 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17 throughout the tournament, was named 'Player of the Tournament.'

Skipper Rohit Sharma was seen enjoying every moment near the trophy, posing for photos with his Mumbai teammate Suryakumar Yadav. Pacers Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh captured memorable moments with the trophy, while Jasprit Bumrah, holding his son Angad in one arm and the trophy in the other, cherished his precious moments. Arshdeep Singh, India's highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 17 scalps, also took pictures with his family.
Spin veteran Yuzvendra Chahal and pacer Mohammed Siraj expressed their happiness, proudly displaying the trophy that symbolised their hard-earned victory.
"Have worked hard to get this in my hands. I feel so blessed to hold this along with my squad of 15," said Siraj.
"This feeling you cannot express in words. I am so lucky to have this," added Chahal.
Much like other teams do after winning titles, the Rohit-led side will have an open-top bus ride in Mumbai at Marine Drive and the iconic Wankhede Stadium from 5:00 pm onwards to celebrate. After their meeting with PM Modi, Men in Blue will depart for Mumbai for the grand celebratory parade.
