What is 'Pran Prathishta'?

Post-ceremony, Prime Minister Modi engaged with laborers contributing to the Ram Temple construction. His itinerary included a visit to the restored ancient temple of Lord Shiv at Kuber Tila. Ayodhya adorned its streets with saffron flags and Ram temple-themed cut-outs at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk.

Temple's Architectural Marvel

The grand Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, reached its zenith as it was inaugurated in an event of historical significance. The temple, spanning 380 feet in length, 250 feet in width, and 161 feet in height, stands as a testament to religious and architectural prowess. Supported by 392 pillars and featuring 44 doors, the temple boasts intricately sculpted depictions of Hindu deities on its pillars and walls, with the main sanctum sanctorum housing the idol of Ram Lalla.

Nationwide Observance

The central government's announcement of a half-day off on January 22, coupled with similar measures taken by various states, led to a vast audience witnessing the historic event live on TV and online platforms worldwide. Temples across the nation celebrated the occasion with special festivities, embracing the spiritual fervor that enveloped the country.

Global Celebrations

Beyond Indian borders, events organized by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu diaspora groups unfolded in different parts of the world, including Washington DC, Paris, and Sydney. The global resonance of the inauguration showcased the widespread significance of this religious milestone.

Ayodhya's Transformed Landscape

The city of Ayodhya became a visual spectacle, draped in religious fervor. The Ram temple, adorned with abundant flowers and special lights, radiated an aura of divinity. Streets were transformed with artwork depicting Lord Ram, cutouts of bow and arrow, and ornamental lampposts inspired by the traditional "Ramanandi tilak."

Stringent Security Measures

A robust security cover, featuring 10,000 CCTV cameras and drones equipped with artificial intelligence, was implemented for the consecration ceremony. Movable barriers with barbed wires regulated traffic, especially during VVIP movements, ensuring a secure environment. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, trained for various scenarios, were strategically deployed.

Historic Milestone

The consecration ceremony marks a significant milestone in the temple's journey, following the historic Supreme Court judgment in 2019 on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit. The ceremony, steeped in historical context, follows the 1992 demolition of the 16th-century mosque by "kar sevaks."

Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address the gathering, emphasizing the importance of the occasion. His agenda also includes a visit to the Kuber Tila, where he plans to engage with the 'shramjeevis' (workers) who played a pivotal role in the temple's construction.

The inauguration of the Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir stands as a historic moment that transcends borders, symbolizing not only religious significance but also the triumph of a long-standing legal battle. The transformed city of Ayodhya and the global celebrations affirm the universal resonance of this monumental event.
