Srinagar: J&K Police chief RR Swain on Monday said the war against militancy is not over and will continue till the other side accepts the futility of killings and violence.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the GurPurab celebrations here at Chatti Padshahi Gurdwara in Srinagar, he said that values underlying the teachings of Guru Nanak should guide all our endeavours in preserving the unity and secular outlook of the country.

"War hasn't ended completely. This will end only when one side accepts that there is no benefit in this except the continuous bloodshed," he said, adding: "There are losses on our side as well. We will bear these losses as we cannot shy away or back off from this war. We want less harm on common people and will make continuous efforts in this direction."
