Want to work with CJP? Party invites volunteers for tech team

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is inviting volunteers to join its technology team and help develop the party’s website, with Technology Lead Rohan Deshpande announcing openings across several technical roles.

In a post on X, Deshpande said the positions are voluntary and unpaid. He also asked prospective applicants to apply only if they are able to commit a “decent” amount of time to the work.

The recruitment notice lists four positions — Backend Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Frontend Engineer and Security Engineer. Of the seven openings, two each are available for backend, DevOps and frontend engineers, while one opening is for a security engineer.


Describing the initiative, the CJP said its technology team aims to build “real tools for a real movement” and is looking for volunteers who can contribute their technical expertise. Those interested have been directed to submit their details through an online application form shared by the party.

CJP strengthens organisational setup

The technology recruitment follows the CJP’s recent announcement of its National Working Committee, formed as part of efforts to build a broader organisational structure.

Deshpande has been appointed the party’s Technology Lead. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has taken charge as National Convener, while chief spokesperson Saurav Das and spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka have been appointed Co-Conveners.

The committee is expected to oversee the party’s expansion over the next six months, including the creation of state coordination committees, Lok Sabha-level units and city-level teams across India, according to the CJP.

CJP extends support to Jharkhand student protesters

Separately, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has criticised the alleged police lathi-charge on student protesters in Jharkhand and voiced support for student leader Devendra Nath Mahto, who is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

In a statement, the CJP said Dipke spoke to Mahto over a video call during his hospitalisation. The outfit claimed Mahto had been observing a nine-day hunger strike before the alleged police action and that his health worsened after the incident.

The CJP alleged that Mahto developed severe chest pain and suffered multiple injuries during the police action, following which he was placed on oxygen support. The organisation also claimed that the police crackdown was directed at students participating in a peaceful protest.

According to the statement, Mahto spoke to Dipke about the police action and the events that preceded his hospitalisation during the video call.

"Whether it is Jantar Mantar in New Delhi or the streets of Jharkhand, such severe police brutality against peaceful student demonstrators is cruel, inhuman, and entirely unacceptable," Dipke said.

He also backed Mahto’s cause, describing him as a "true hero" for his work for the student community and said the CJP would continue to stand firmly behind his struggle.
