That innings saw Kohli surpass the mark of 49 centuries he had shared with retired India great Sachin Tendulkar.
During this World Cup, Virat Kohli also leapfrogged for Australian skipper Ricky Ponting to be the third highest scorer in ODIs. This jersey holds a special significance as it was worn by Tendulkar in his last One Day International (ODI) match against Pakistan back in 2012. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) captured the special moment and shared pictures on their official social media account. "A special occasion & a special pre-match moment. Sachin Tendulkar 2011 and Virat Kohli 2023," wrote the BCCI.
