Viral video: Onlookers loot chickens after an accident on Agra-Delhi highway due to fog

In a dramatic turn of events on the Agra-Delhi Highway (NH-19), chaos erupted when a lorry transporting chickens collided with other vehicles amid dense fog. The incident took a troubling twist as onlookers and commuters, instead of assisting the injured driver, engaged in looting the birds from the stranded vehicle. A video capturing the incident has gone viral on social media.

The unsettling footage shows individuals hastily gathering chickens and swiftly departing the accident scene. Some even went to the extent of bundling the birds into sacks, creating a peculiar scene amidst the aftermath of the mishap.



Around a dozen vehicles were involved in the collision on NH-19, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. Among the vehicles caught in the fog-induced collision was a truck laden with chickens. Disturbingly, upon encountering the stranded vehicle, people seized the opportunity to pilfer the chickens, despite the injured driver's desperate cries for help.

The ill-fated truck, en route from Agra to Kasganj, suffered the unfortunate accident, leaving its driver, Sunil Kumar, in a helpless situation. Recounting the incident, Kumar stated that he initially attempted to prevent the looting, but the growing crowd rendered him powerless.

"The chickens were worth nearly two hundred and fifty thousand rupees," lamented Sunil Kumar, highlighting the substantial financial losses incurred.

Meanwhile, dense fog also led to a major accident leaving many injured on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida.

Several commuters were severely injured in a pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway amid reduced visibility due to fog, police officials said. The officials have revealed that the incident took place around 8 am on the Agra to Noida lane of the expressway in Dayanatpur area under the Jewar police station.
