India will emphasise on a holistic approach to creation of peace formula that should involve presence of all stakeholders in talks and the process for a durable peace, said people with knowledge of the matter. Misri will drive home India's long-standing position on dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward to end the conflict, they said.
This is the fourth edition of peace talks under the Copenhagen format led by NSAs. Misri had attended the talks under this format in Malta last year.
The Ukraine conflict has been on the agenda of talks between India and major powers - the US and Russia - in recent weeks.
In August last year, NSA Ajit K Doval represented India at the meet of NSAs of around 30 countries to hammer out a peace formula on Ukraine under the Saudi leadership. India suggested at the meeting that a solution acceptable to all stakeholders should be found, indicating that Russia's views should also be taken on board for any peace deal.
"Currently, several peace proposals have been put forward. Each has some positive points but none is acceptable to both sides. The key question that needs to be addressed in this meeting is whether a solution that is acceptable to all relevant stakeholders can be found," Doval had told other delegates at the Jeddah meeting.
