Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code: Perpetually 'soon to be launched'

The Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code report seems to be in perpetual 'soon to be launched' mode.

Word has it that the panel readied the report way back in June itself and has only been awaiting political clearance to 'submit' it to the state government.

So, while the stage was set for report submission followed by a UCC legislation in a Special Uttarakhand assembly session this week, political considerations amid ongoing polls are learnt to have caused yet another delay.


Rumour has it,that a November window is still alive for UCC.
