Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday virtually unveiled the statue of Raja Jagat Dev of the Buksa tribal community, installed at the village panchayat in Roshanpur Dalbaba under the Gadarpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district in the state’s Kumaon region.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Raja Jagat Dev’s entire life is an invaluable example of sacrifice, bravery, devotion to religion, and cultural preservation. According to him, the occasion was not merely to unveil a statue, but to pay homage to the glorious traditions, culture, and sacrifices of the Buksa tribe. He further added that Raja Jagat Dev dedicated his entire life to protecting religion and culture while facing difficult circumstances. This, he said, is not just a saga of bravery, but a symbol of the indomitable power of self-respect and faith.

The Chief Minister also said that the Buksa community, settled across different parts of the state including Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, and Kotdwar, is keeping its culture, traditions, and self-respect alive.

“The state government is working with full commitment towards the cultural preservation, historical documentation, education, health, housing, and employment of tribal communities,” he said in his speech. Dhami added that research should also be conducted on the glorious story of Raja Jagat Dev so that future generations can draw inspiration from his life.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Dhami also made three announcements related to the development of the area. A boundary wall, tin shed, flooring, and toilets will be constructed at the Shri Dalbaba Temple complex in Gram Sabha Roshanpur. The 3-km road from Balramnagar village to Khempur will also be reconstructed, as will the 4-km road from Sitapur village to ANK Inter College.

Block head Jyoti Grover, Nagar Panchayat president Satish Chugh, Minister of State Manjeet Singh Raju, Udham Singh Nagar District Magistrate Nitin Bhadoria, and Senior Superintendent of Police Manikant Mishra were present on the occasion.
