She also warned of adverse entry into the ACR of the officers concerned in case of such negligence in future. Chief secretary Raturi has asked all the District Magistrates to ensure compulsory meetings of the district-level NCORD once in a month. For strict monitoring of misuse of medicines as drugs at medical stores, she has directed the Director General of Health (DG, Health) to ensure installation of CCTVs at all medical stores and digitize the records.
Chairing the meeting of the state-level Narcotics Coordination Meeting (NCORD) at the state secretariat in Dehradun on Monday, chief secretary Raturi has also directed the departments concerned and the district magistrates to create a separate budgetary allocation for the de-addiction centres. She has instructed the district magistrates to compulsorily establish at least one de-addiction centre in their district concerned.
She also instructed them to compulsorily constitute anti-drugs committees in private schools, colleges, and universities on the pattern of the government educational institutions. She asked them to run the Anti-drug E pledge as a public campaign. So far, 2,20,754 e-pledges have been taken in Uttarakhand. In this matter, Uttarakhand is at the 6th place in the country.
Drawing their attention to the possible participation of the private sector to ensure drug-free campuses of educational institutions, chief secretary Raturi has given directions to look at the possibilities of signing MoU in this regard with various NGOs, social, and cultural organizations.
At the meeting, it was informed that 1020 cases have been registered under the NDPS Act in the state so far in this year. Besides, 1298 persons have been convicted.
