Uttar Pradesh lifts corona curfew from all districts barring Lucknow, Meerut, Saharanpur & Gorakhpur
Uttar Pradesh on Sunday lifted Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in all districts except Lucknow, Meerut, Saharanpur and Gorakhpur, said ACS Information Navneet Sehgal.

These four districts will remain under the corona curfew as their active cases are above 600, as per Sehgal. The restrictions will be relaxed for the other 71 districts. The curfew will remain in force till the districts are showing more than 600 actives cases.

The guidelines also state that markets will be open from 7am to 7pm on weekdays, while schools, gyms and colleges will remain shut. However, the night curfew and weekend curfew will continue. Home delivery from restaurants will also be permitted.


The UP government decided to grant relaxations on Saturday to the Covid curfew in Bareilly and Bulandshahr from June 7. Amid a drop in cases, UP started the unlocking process on June 1 after several weeks of restrictions amid the second wave.

Uttar Pradesh has vaccinated over 2 crore people, as per officials, including more than 31 lakh youth.

Meanwhile, the state reported 1,100 new COVID-19 cases. This took the total active cases to 17,000, while 3.10 lakh have been tested in the last 24 hours.
