US Vice President JD Vance to visit Jaipur, deliver key policy speech

New Delhi: US Vice President JD Vance and his family are set for a packed visit to Jaipur, with a blend of cultural immersion and diplomacy, culminating in a policy address at the Rajasthan International Centre on April 22.

Vance will be received in Jaipur by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The VP's visit will kick off with a tour of Amer Fort, where he will be greeted at Suraj Pol Gate by two decorated elephants, 'Chanda' and 'Pushpa'. His day also includes visits to City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Hawa Mahal.

Later that evening, Vance will deliver a policy speech at the Rajasthan International Centre, followed by meetings with the Governor and CM. He is also scheduled to engage with industry leaders in Jaipur.


On April 23, the US delegation will travel to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal. A day before his Jaipur engagements, Vance and his family will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dinner on April 21, where discussions will focus on the Quad partnership and bilateral trade.

Farwa Aamer, Director for South Asia Initiatives at the Asia Society Policy Institute, noted the significance of the visit amid evolving regional dynamics. "VP Vance's visit could inject further momentum into the bilateral trade agreement, paving the way for a pragmatic, win-win deal," she said.

She also emphasized India's growing strategic importance: "As U.S.-China competition hardens, India's strategic value only grows. Delhi has played a proactive hand despite headwinds on tariffs and trade."

The Rajasthan International Centre, a hub for cultural and intellectual engagement, will serve as the venue for the Vice President's address, marking yet another high-profile moment in deepening India-US ties.
