Lok Sabha polls: UPSC postpones date for civil services preliminary exam
UPSC postponed civil services exam due to 18th Lok Sabha polls, affecting IAS, IFS, IPS officer selections. Main exams start on September 20 for five days. 2024 Lok Sabha elections held in seven phases, with vote counting on June 4.

"Due to the schedule of the impending general election, the commission has decided to postpone the civil services (preliminary) examination-2024 which also serves as screening test for Indian Forest Service examination, 2024, from 26-05-2024 to 16-06-2024," the official statement of UPSC said.
About Civil Services examinations:
The UPSC IAS written exams are set to take place in two shifts – General Studies and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). The General Studies paper will be held in the morning from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by the CSAT in the afternoon from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
The admit card for the UPSC IAS prelims 2024 will be released at least 10 days prior to the exam. Candidates can download their UPSC Prelims hall ticket 2024 from the official website at upsc.gov.in using their registration number, roll number, or date of birth.
The UPSC IAS Main exams are scheduled to take place from September 20 over a five-day period.
