Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted Uttar Pradesh people and said that the state has set great examples in different fields and has been making valuable contributions to the country's development.

He was addressing the people of Uttar Pradesh on the state's formation day.

"The people of UP have set an example in many areas. I wish this state, which is making an important contribution to the progress of the country, continued prosperity," he tweeted.



India's most populous state was formed on this day in 1950, incorporating the regions that came under the erstwhile United Provinces.

The recent development program that has caught everyone's attention includes the expressway, metro, and pipeline projects.

In a recent development, the UP government has signed a series of Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 25,000 crore with 33 entrepreneurs on the sidelines of Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023.

In a video message to the investors, CM Yogi said his state is a leading state in ease of doing business with good governance, zero tolerance towards crime and corruption, the largest consumer market, single window clearance, as well as investment-friendly policies.

"UP is the best place to invest in all aspects and is poised to become the second largest economy of the country. As per the resolution of the PM, UP is ready to accelerate India's economic growth," the minister added.

Last November, Modi inaugurated the 340.824 km mega project of Purvanchal Expressway under Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) in the state’s Sultanpur district.

The Purvanchal Expressway has constructed at a cost of about Rs 22,500 crore, starting from Chandsarai village, located near the existing Lucknow-Sultanpur Road (NH-731), in the Lucknow district. A fully access-controlled six-lane expressway with an airstrip for an emergency runway for Indian Air Force fighter jets.

And in 2023, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to begin the construction of the Ganga Expressway which will also feature an additional 3.5 km long airstrip.

In 2021, PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath took the first ride in Kanpur Metro, the fastest-built metro project. The entire 32 km metro line is being built at the cost of over Rs 11,000 crore.

The state government had also worked on the 356 Km long Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project with a capacity of around 3.45 million metric tonnes per annum.
