In the release, Additional Chief Secretary for Health and Medical Education, Amit Kumar Ghosh, said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier directed the department to fill vacant positions so that more youth in the state could obtain government jobs. As part of this initiative, the Medical Education Department has submitted requisitions for the positions of Assistant Professor, Professor, and Lecturer (Pharmacy) in government medical colleges for selection through the Public Service Commission, Prayagraj.
He further said that advertisements for recruitment to these positions will be issued soon. Advertisements will be issued for recruitment to approximately 1,200 positions in government medical colleges, 1,112 Assistant Professor positions, 44 Professor positions, and 11 Lecturer (Pharmacy) positions.
He also added that a major step has been taken towards strengthening the nursing cadre. This will further strengthen health services in the state's government hospitals and medical colleges.
While medical education was previously limited to a few districts, today the goal of establishing medical colleges in almost every district has been achieved in the state.
