A team helmed by additional chief secretary of the minority welfare and waqf department of UP, Monika Garg, called 'Team UPAI' with its project 'AI Literacy for All' has compiled a set of 22 comprehensive videos about AI, coding, Internet of Things and related subjects with the help of experts from central and state universities to be shown to students of primary schools and madarsas. Teachers from primary schools as well as madarsas were identified for this and an orientation program was also held for them on Wednesday in the state capital.
The move complements the decision to also introduce NCERT syllabus in the madarsas in a bid to impart scientific and modern education to the students along with religious education.
Currently, close to 14 lakh students are enrolled in 16,513 madarsas in the state. While the madarsas are getting textbooks through the state's basic education department, a total of 1,275 madarsas have been given computers. 121 madarsas had mini ITIs running within their premises.
