UP officials test positive for Covid-19 amid surge
The second wave of Covid-19 has crept deep into the Uttar Pradesh bureaucracy with many key administrative officials as well as IPS officers reporting Covid-positive.

On Saturday, Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary of information and MSME departments, one of chief minister Yogi Adityanath's key administrative officers, reported positive along with director general of police Hitesh Awasthy. Both are part of Adityanath's 'Team-11' constituted to battle the Covid crisis.

Sehgal had been in isolation at home and addressing press briefings from there after Adityanath tested positive on Wednesday.


At least 12 IAS officers, including additional chief secretary SP Goyal, have tested positive. District magistrate of Lucknow Abhishek Prakash has also tested positive.
