UP launches month-long campaign to provide shelter to stray cattle
Minister for animal husbandry Dharmpal Singh has announced a dedicated one-month long campaign from January 20 to shelter abandoned cattle. He has also asked for toll free numbers to be activated so that people can complain about the animals.

At the same time, Singh also said those who release their animals will attract action under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Over the last few weeks, CM Yogi has asked government representatives to play a proactive role in getting more people associated with the state-run schemes that incentivise sheltering cattle at home.
