UP government imposes Sunday lockdown in entire state

Only essential services will be exempted from the purview of the lockdown. Those who are found without a mask will be fined Rs 1,000.

In a major decision to curb rapidly spreading coronavirus, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government will impose a complete Sunday lockdown in the entire state.

Only essential services will be exempted from the purview of the lockdown. Those who are found without a mask will be fined Rs 1,000.

On Thursday, the state government had imposed a night curfew in 10 districts from 8 pm to 7 am.


All schools have also been shut in Uttar Pradesh till May 15.
