New Delhi: To make Uttar Pradesh as a global IT hub, the state government is continuously improving infrastructure and an investment-friendly environment. The state has emerged as one of the leading states in the country in the field of IT and electronics exports. Since 2017, the state has made significant progress in the field of IT and electronics exports.

“This sector has become a strong pillar of the state's economy. The goal is to increase the state's current share in the country's total IT exports from 5 to 10 percent by the year 2030,” a release, issued by the state’s public information said.

According to the release, the combined growth of IT services and electronics manufacturing has broadened Uttar Pradesh's export base. Cities like Noida, Greater Noida, the Yamuna Expressway region, and Lucknow have emerged as major hubs for IT services, mobile manufacturing, electronic components, and data-driven industries.

The establishment of assembly units, component manufacturing plants, and IT services companies in the state has strengthened its export potential.

The release said exports of electronics products from Uttar Pradesh, valued at approximately Rs 3,862 crore in 2017, have increased to Rs 44,744 crore in 2024-25. Similarly, exports of IT-based services have also increased from Rs 55,711 crore to Rs 82,055 crore. “This growth is not limited to mere statistics; it also reflects the state's evolving technology-based industrial infrastructure and the growing confidence of global companies,” the release further mentioned.

The development in this sector benefits the state's youth. IT and electronics export-oriented industries are creating many direct and indirect employment opportunities, the release said. With the expansion of technical training, skills development programs, and the start-up ecosystem, young people are no longer merely job seekers but are also becoming drivers of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Policy reforms undertaken by the Yogi government have simplified and made the investment process transparent. A single-window system, improved law and order, robust logistics, and industrial infrastructure have made Uttar Pradesh an attractive destination for global investors, the release further said.
