"A fruitful meeting and cordial discussions took place with Mr Junichi Ishidera, Hon Vice Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, along with a high-level delegation, at my official residence in Lucknow," the CM stated on social media platform X.
During the interaction, Chief Minister Adityanath highlighted that the relationship between India and Japan is built on shared values including trust, discipline, innovation, and sustainable development. He expressed Uttar Pradesh's commitment to enhancing this partnership at the ground level.
Discussions also centered on the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Uttar Pradesh government and Yamanashi prefecture in 2024. This MoU aims to foster cooperation in clean energy, particularly green hydrogen, innovation, capacity building, and sustainable industrial development.
The Chief Minister informed the delegation about the establishment of centers of excellence in Uttar Pradesh to promote research, innovation, and skill development in green hydrogen. He also mentioned the UP Green Hydrogen Policy-2024, implemented by UPNEDA, which creates a favorable environment for investors in this sector.
A significant achievement shared with the delegation was the commencement of commercial operations for a green hydrogen pilot project in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority area. A government spokesperson noted that the Japanese delegation acknowledged the UP government's efforts in clean energy and expressed interest in expanding future cooperation.
The meeting also touched upon the deep civilizational and cultural connections between India and Japan. Possibilities for strengthening people-to-people contact through Buddhist heritage and the Buddhist tourism circuit were specifically considered.
