UP Cabinet meeting to be held in Mahakumbh Area in Prayagraj; CM Yogi to lead dip at Triveni Ghat

A special meeting of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet will be held in Mahakumbh areas in Prayagraj on Wednesday. The cabinet meeting, which chief minister Yogi Adityanath will chair, will be attended by UP government’s all 54 ministers. Several schemes and proposals for the state’s development will be approved at the meeting.

After the end of the meeting, chief minister Yogi Adityanath and all his ministers will take a dip in the river at Triveni Ghat in Mahakumbh area. In 2019 Kumbh Mela, CM Yogi had taken a dip in Sangam along with all ministers of his then government. Akhara Parishad President Narendra Giri and other saints also accompanied CM Yogi.

All 54 ministers of the UP government have been asked to attend the meeting of the Yogi-headed cabinet in the Mahakumbh. The cabinet meeting will start at 12 noon in the Triveni complex of Arail. The government selected the Arail as the venue of the cabinet meeting to avoid problems for the devotees coming to take dip in the Triveni Sangam.


Earlier, the state government had selected the auditorium of the Mela Authority for the cabinet meeting. However, the venue of the meeting was changed keeping all aspects in mind. The auditorium of the Mela Authority as the venue for the state cabinet could have troubled the devotees due to the VIP security.

As per the plan, all the ministers will go to Sangam via motorboat from Arail VIP Ghat after the end of the cabinet meeting. Apart from CM Yogi, all the ministers will perform the Puja. Then, they will take a holy dip in Triveni through the jetty built on the Sangam bank.

According to a press release, All ministers including CM Yogi Adityanath, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Ministers, minister of state for independent charge and minister of state, will take a dip in Sangam after attending the cabinet meeting.
