Unidentified woman’s body recovered from Manipur district
Fresh tensions have emerged in Manipur after the body of an unidentified woman was found in Churachandpur district, prompting a police investigation amid ongoing unrest, curfews, and continued restrictions in parts of the state.

A senior police official said, "We received information at around 11:30 pm on April 13 from the secretary of the Muolvaiphei Village Authority. A police officer immediately rushed to the spot and found the body lying in a deserted area."
The officer further added, "An inquest was conducted at the site after completing all procedural formalities in the presence of relevant authorities. A case has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita." The body has been shifted to the District Hospital morgue in Churachandpur for postmortem.

While curfew restrictions were relaxed from 5 am to 5 pm on Tuesday in certain areas according to the orders issued by the respective district magistrates, mobile internet services remained suspended. Educational institutions across the Imphal Valley have remained shut since April 7 following the Bishnupur blast incident.
Manipur has been witnessing sporadic incidents of violence since last week. On April 13, there were protests, including a road blockade from Moirang and torch rallies were also taken out in different places.
