Mohammad Nusairat, a student from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) set to graduate in 2025, has sparked controversy with a viral video where he made provocative statements about America and its values. In the video dated May 3, 2024, Nusairat referred to America, its government, secularism, democracy, and capitalism as "cancers that have spread their illness all over the world – in America and the Middle East."

"America is the cancer. America, the American government, secularism, democracy, capitalism, these are cancers that have spread their illness all over the world – in America and in the Middle East. In America, over here, people have the freedom to – again, as I've said before – commit zina [fornication] but when you speak up, it's a problem," Nusairat Nusairat is heard saying in the video.

Nusairat, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Data Science with a Concentration in Computer Science at UIC, expressed disillusionment with the American government and democratic principles, advocating for an alternative way of life.

The video has generated widespread criticism on social media, where many users have condemned his remarks and suggested that he should consider leaving the country if he holds such views.

Additionally, another individual named Musab Kazi, speaking during a Friday sermon at UIC's MSA on April 26, 2024, voiced sentiments about the liberation of Palestine, asserting that true liberation would not come through American efforts but through the strength of the Muslim nations. Kazi referred to the "Muslims of strength" present in the room as being capable of saving Masjid Al-Aqsa from the hands of the "oppressors."
