The development occurs after the murder incident sparked protests and arson in Udaipur, prompting the Home Ministry to deploy a team from the NIA including a Deputy Inspector General (DIG)-rank officer there to ‘investigate’ if there was a ‘terror angle.’

Since the incident has raised security concerns in other states like Maharashtra, the NIA has been tasked with conducting a thorough investigation to determine whether any organisation or international links were responsible for the horrific incident.
The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot tweeted, "A high level review meeting was held on the Udaipur incident today. Police officials said that preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was prima facie done for the purpose of spreading terror. Information about the contacts of both the accused in other countries has also come to the fore."

The attackers identified themselves in a different video as Mohammad Riyaz and Ghouse Mohammad, boasted about the ‘beheading’, and threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nupur Sharma.
However, the police arrested the two accused in the Bheem area of Rajsamand district on Tuesday night when the accused were trying to flee.
