In a shocking incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl from Kyolari village in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district reportedly passed away on Monday, two weeks after being bitten by a stray dog. Shockingly, during this period, the young girl reportedly bit around 40 people, leaving the villagers deeply concerned about the possibility of rabies transmission.

The unfortunate event occurred when the girl was at her maternal uncle's house in Kyolari village, where the stray dog bit her. Instead of seeking immediate medical attention from a qualified doctor, the girl was taken to a quack, and her symptoms of rabies were reportedly ignored by the family.

Over the course of the next few days, the girl's condition worsened, and she started biting and scratching others around her. The villagers claimed that the same dog had died after biting the young girl, raising fears of rabies transmission.

On Friday, the situation escalated, and the girl collapsed. She was rushed to the district hospital and later referred to Jhansi for advanced medical care. However, despite efforts to save her, the toddler tragically succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

In response to the incident, the CHC in-charge, Dinesh Bardariya, assured the public that there is no need to panic as they have sufficient rabies injections available. However, the incident serves as a grave reminder of the importance of seeking prompt medical attention and taking necessary precautions in the case of animal bites, especially from stray animals.

This unfortunate incident has brought the spotlight on the need for better awareness and preventive measures to safeguard against rabies, a deadly zoonotic disease.
