The ministry of statistics and programme implementation (MoSPI) Friday said it has reorganised the survey design and research division as the household survey division (HSD) and the data processing division (DPD) and the industrial statistics (IS) wing together as the enterprise survey division (EnSD) to provide "turnkey services with respect to a particular product/survey".
In a statement, the ministry said it has created two survey wise verticals/divisions "in order to functionally reorganise NSS from process-based to product-based ecosystem with the objective to ensure that survey methodologies are strengthened and NSS is able to release qualitative results/reports in shortest possible time".
The ministry has also delegated financial powers to 71 department heads in the zonal/regional offices from seven at present in order to grant greater autonomy. This change, implemented in September in accordance with the Delegation of Financial Powers (DFPR) 2024, is expected to facilitate ease of doing business and timely disposal of financial matters.
