Twitter appoints interim compliance officer
Delhi High Court, on Tuesday, had pulled up Twitter for not complying with India's new IT rules. It had asked the social media company to come up with the status of compliance by next date.

Twitter told the Delhi High Court that it has engaged the services of the Interim Chief Compliance Officer as a contingent worker via a third-party contractor and has also addressed a communication to MeitY, ANI reported.
Twitter further added that it'll, in good faith, make an offer of employment to a qualified candidate to fill Chief Compliance Officer position within 8 weeks.

The court observed that Twitter is in defiance of the law by not appointing a grievance redressal officer under the new IT rules.
