In a shocking incident, a video of Indian Railway TTE brutally slapping a passenger on board the Barauni-Lucknow Express has gone viral on social media. In the video, the TTE can be seen mercilessly slapping the passenger. The TTE can also be seen abusing the passenger and the one shooting the video. As per reports, the TTE has been suspended by the railways.

The video has gone viral on social media with several users now demanding severe punishment for the accused TTE.

Netizens had also urged Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for action against the TTE.


"A video surfaces on social media of TTE on Barauni-Lucknow express slapping a passenger. The concerned TTE has been suspended by the competent authority and an inquiry has been initiated against the concerned," Indian Railway said in a statement.

Some users, expressing dismay, went on to say that the TTE should be immediately arrested and demanding stringent disciplinary actions against those responsible for maintaining order on trains.

"Then later when the passenger will be picked up, it will be said that “violence is not the answer” @AshwiniVaishnaw, please send this TTE to the border," actor Ranvir Shorey posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In response to the mounting outcry on social media, officials from Railway Seva have acknowledged the incident. In a brief statement, they assured the public that relevant authorities have been informed and are actively looking into the matter.

Recently, in another incident during a flight, a passenger assaulted a private airline staff. After the incident, aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindhia said that "Incidences of unruly behaviour amidst this are unacceptable, and will be dealt with strongly in line with the existing legal provisions."
