Tripura government transfers Chief Secretary Kumar Alok to Rural Development institute SIPARD
Earlier Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar was removed and posted as Special Chief Resident Commissioner of Tripura in New Delhi and appointed Alok as the Chief Secretary.

Tripura has seen several changes in the chief secretaries in last couple of years. Manik Saha recently took over charge as the Chief Minister after the resignation of Biplab Kumar Deb.
Alok, a Tripura cadre 1990 batch IAS officer, was appointed Chief Secretary in June last year. Prior to this, he was Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat of the central government.

According to an official notification, issued on Saturday, senior IAS officer J.K. Sinha, currently Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Manik Saha and Health and Family Welfare Department, would hold the charge of Chief Secretary in addition.
In last four years, Tripura has seen as many as three chief secretaries including Lalit Kumar Gupta, Manoj Kumar and Kumar Alok.
A senior official in the state government who not want to be named told ET, " There were difference of opinion between the chief minister and chief Secretary on several issues. "
