New Delhi: A group of Trinamool MPs staged a brief protest in the Lok Sabha on Monday against what they called 'police mobilisation' at the West Bengal government's guest house in Delhi. As BJP MP Tejasvi Surya was about to conclude his speech, Trinamool MPs, led by Kalyan Banerjee, entered the well and started raising slogans and demanded an "answer from" home minister Amit Shah, who was present in the House.

On Trinamool MPs' request, some SP members also joined the protest. Speaker Om Birla and defence minister Rajnath Singh were seen asking MPs to return to their seats. Some Congress MPs also joined the effort to end the protest when the Chair called leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi to speak. As MPs finally went back to their seats, Banerjee went close to the seats of Shah and Singh and raised some slogans and then returned to his seat.
