Trinamool Congress to expand base in other North eastern states

Following its foothold in Tripura and Meghalaya, Trinamool Congress is planning to expand its bases in other North eastern states.

The party is likely to celebrate its foundation day on January 1 through mega events.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee are likely to visit Assam and Meghalaya.


Already Meghalaya's opposition leader Mukul Sangma, who along with 11 Congress MLAs joined the Trinamool Congress last month claiming that the Congress has failed as an effective opposition in the country and the TMC would be a Pan-India viable alternative opposition party.

TMC the main opposition party in Meghalaya. Manipur is going to assembly polls in 2022 while in 2023 Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya will go to assembly polls.
